Sarovyn (Roller Skate Detroit) entered the 2024 Hatch Detroit as one of more than 350 local businesses competing for a $100,000 retail development award.
The process was structured and public.
From the initial pool, Sarovyn advanced to the Top 25.
Then to the Top 10 semifinalists.
Then to the Final 4.
Each stage required evaluation, community voting, and live pitch performance at the annual Hatch Off hosted by TechTown Detroit.
Reaching the final four positioned Sarovyn among the most competitive emerging retail concepts in Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park that year.
Roller Skate Detroit was named one of three runners-up and received a $10,000 grant through TechTown’s Small Business Support Hub, supported by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Advancing through each round required public support, structured evaluation, and live performance under scrutiny.
The progression affirmed more than an idea.
It validated a model built on wellness, culture, and disciplined execution.
