Our training sessions are designed for quad roller skates, not rollerblades.
If you currently own rollerblades, you will need access to a pair of quad skates to participate. The balance, turning, and stopping techniques taught in the session are built specifically around quad skates.
Rental skates are available if needed, so you can still participate even if you do not yet own a pair.
That said, we generally encourage participants to have their own skates when possible. Learning on the same pair each time allows your body to build familiarity with how the equipment fits and responds. Switching between different skates can feel noticeably different from session to session.
If you decide to purchase skates, we recommend visiting Anime to Skateboards. Their team is known for being patient and attentive when helping people select the right equipment, and they take the time to ensure skates fit properly. We strongly recommend purchasing skates in person rather than online, since proper fit, support, and setup make a meaningful difference when you are learning.
You can also read our guide on why we recommend buying skates in person for additional context before making a purchase.
You don't need to wait. Sign up for the current cohort.
Each session does build on the last. But the cohort is structured so that if you miss a week, your coach walks you through what you missed at the top of the next session before we move forward. You won't be behind. You'll just come back in.
