A six-week guided introduction to roller skating for adults. Each 75-minute session is thoughtfully paced to build comfort, balance, and confidence in a calm, supportive environment.

What To Expect
Participants typically arrive curious, cautious, or unsure, all of which are expected and accounted for in the design of the session. The room is calm and focused, with the coach actively monitoring pacing and comfort levels throughout.

Who This is For

  • Adults who are new to roller skating
  • Those returning to skating after a long break
  • Participants seeking a low impact, engaging movement experience
  • People who value small group learning and a calm environment

Who This is not For

  • Those looking for high intensity or competitive training
  • Participants seeking advanced footwork or performance skating
  • People who prefer drop in, unstructured sessions

Readiness

  • No prior skating experience required

Required Equipment

  • Comfortable clothing suitable for movement
  • Quad Roller Skates

Suggested Equipment

  • Wrist Guards

Optional Equipment

  • Helmet
  • Knee Pads
  • Elbow Pads
  • Padded Shorts

Skate Basics + Fitness exists for people who have been curious about skating but hesitant to begin, as well as for those returning after time away. Rather than pushing speed or intensity, this experience prioritizes comfort, awareness, and steady progression.

The sessions are intentionally structured to introduce foundational skating concepts while allowing space for participants to acclimate at their own pace. Movement is approached as exploration, not correction. Progress is measured by increased ease, not comparison.

Small group sizing allows the coach to remain present and responsive, creating an environment where questions are welcomed and tension is reduced. Over time, participants develop familiarity with their skates, their balance, and their body in motion while engaging in a form of movement that feels lighter and more engaging than traditional workouts.

This is not about mastering tricks or chasing metrics. It is about building a relationship with skating that feels safe, enjoyable, and sustainable.
